At Laura Bruno Psychotherapy, we’re passionate about connecting you with therapists who bring both clinical expertise and genuine care. Jamie is one of those therapists—offering a warm, collaborative, and deeply supportive space for healing, growth, and self-discovery.

Meet Jamie
Jamie is a Registered Psychotherapist and a mother of three who brings warmth, curiosity, and authenticity into her work. She has always been drawn to connecting with people—listening to their stories, understanding their experiences, and supporting them through both the lighter and more difficult parts of life.
She believes therapy should feel like a safe space—one where you don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. Her approach is grounded in meeting clients where they are, while gently supporting them in moving toward where they want to be.
As both a therapist and a mother, Jamie understands how layered life can feel at times. She has a special heart for supporting women through seasons of change, overwhelm, identity shifts, and the emotional complexities that can come with motherhood and caregiving.
Jamie also brings a unique lens to her work by integrating spirituality when it feels aligned for the client—exploring meaning, values, and a deeper sense of connection as part of the healing process.
Who Jamie Works With
Jamie works with adults (18+) across Ontario who are navigating:
Anxiety and depression
Life transitions and identity shifts
Postpartum changes and motherhood challenges
Birth trauma
Religious trauma and spiritual exploration
Women’s mental health
2SLGBTQ+ affirming care
Jamie is particularly passionate about trauma work, with a focus on childhood trauma, religious trauma, and attachment-related challenges. She understands how past experiences can continue to shape the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world.
Her goal is to help clients feel seen, understood, and supported as they begin making sense of their stories in a way that feels compassionate rather than overwhelming.
Jamie’s Approach to Therapy
Jamie approaches therapy as a collaborative process, walking alongside her clients as they explore their experiences and build a path forward that feels meaningful and sustainable for them.
Her work is grounded in an attachment lens and integrates evidence-based approaches such as:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): supporting psychological flexibility and helping clients live more in alignment with their values
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): identifying and shifting unhelpful thought patterns
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): offering tools for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and relationships
Parts work (IFS-informed): exploring different parts of yourself with compassion and curiosity
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): deepening emotional awareness and strengthening connection
Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, Jamie tailors therapy to the individual—adapting tools and techniques based on what feels most supportive, safe, and meaningful.
She aims to create a space where clients can safely explore deeper emotions, develop self-understanding, and strengthen their relationships with themselves and others.
A Holistic & Meaning-Centered Approach
When clients are open to it, Jamie incorporates a spiritual and meaning-centered lens into therapy. This may include exploring:
Personal values and purpose
Identity and self-understanding
Healing from religious trauma
Rebuilding a relationship with spirituality in a way that feels safe and authentic
This approach allows for deeper, more integrative healing—honouring both emotional experiences and the deeper layers of meaning that often exist underneath them.
What Therapy With Jamie Can Feel Like
